KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (4-days)
The Kruger National Park is one of the first proclaimed National Parks in South Africa. It is home to 150 species of mammal,
including the "Big Five" namely Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhinoceros and Elephant. The staggering 507+ identified bird species,
plus the wide variety of insects, reptiles and amphibians make this a truly unique and ultimate wildlife experience.
There are an impressive 300+ trees and over 2000 plant species in this Park.
What to see and do in the Park?
Visit museums that tell the story and history of the first people who declared this area a nature reserve. Curio shops and restaurants. Stop over at the many water holes throughout the Park where the animals come to drink. Visit a library that contains many accounts of the Park’s history. And….

PILANESBERG NATIONAL PARK (3-DAYS)
Pilanesberg National Park is situated in an ancient long extinct volcanic crater,
"The Volcano that gave birth to a game reserve". The park exists within the transition
zone between the dry Kalahari and wetter Lowveld vegetation, commonly referred to as
"Bushveld". Unlike any other large park, unique overlaps of mammals, birds and vegetation
occur because of this transition zone. Pilanesberg National Park accommodates virtually
every mammal of Southern Africa and is also home to the Big Five.

WESTERN CAPE (5-Days)
A visit to the Mother City is always very rewarding. The hustle and bustle around the Victoria
and Alfred Waterfront reminds of many European scenes but with an African flavour. Enjoy breathtaking
sunsets from numerous sidewalk cafes. Visit the first Castle built in South Africa. Enjoy a breathtaking
view of Cape Town from inside a cable car while going up to the top of Table Mountain. Drive through
picturesque seaside towns.
What to see and do in this area:
- Picturesque villages and towns such as George which was once described by the novelist Anthony
Trollope as the "prettiest town on the face of the earth". Nestled below the Outeniqua Mountains the town
is situated halfway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. A large collection of steam trains are found
at the Railway Museum and worth a visit. The Church of St Peter and St Paul is the oldest Roman Catholic
Church in South Africa.
- Mossel Bay: This Indian Ocean coastal village and harbour has a rich association
with the Portuguese explorers of the 15th and 16th centuries. In 1488 Bartolomeu Dias threw anchor in the bay.
- Swellendam is the third oldest magisterial district in the country and as such has some wonderful examples
of Cape Dutch, Cape Georgian and Cape Victorian buildings.
- Cape Town, the Mother City of SA and must see
places include: Alfred and Victoria Waterfront, Two Oceans Aquarium, the very first Castle erected in SA,
a cable car ride up Table Mountain, Robben Island (where former President Nelson Mandela was held prisoner)
and delight in the colourful city life.
- Breathtaking Nature’s Valley where the Knysna Loerie and other colourful birds made there nests.
- If you have the stamina and need a good rush of adrenaline, bungee jump from one of the highest bridges in South Africa, go deep sea fishing or abseil down the side of a cliff.
- Knysna was occupied by farmers in the 18th century and declared a town only in 1825 by Lord Charles Somerset. Enjoy sunset cruises on the Canal.
- In the beautiful Hermitage Valley youngberries are used to produce the most exquisite range of liqueur.
- Wine route: Stellenbosch is known throughout as one of the best wine areas in South Africa and also one of the best University Towns in South Africa.
- Quaint shops, pubs, restaurants and side walk cafés
- Cape Point, where two oceans meet!

GAUTENG, CULTURE AND HISTORY (4-DAYS)
- Perhaps one of the most outstanding things about South African culture is that it is not one single culture, but rather a range of different cultures representing every level of a very stratified community. Hybrid mixtures of these different cultures also exist, making South Africa one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world.
- Visit places of interest such as the Voortrekker Monument, panels inside this unique monument depicts the history of the Afrikaner; The Kruger House Museum; Church square; City Hall; Transvaal Museum and the Union Buildings housing the office of the President of South Africa.
- Visit Gold Reef City and the Apartheid Museum.
- Visit Sowet, one of the largest townships in South Africa, including a visit to Hector Peterson museum; and Vilakazi street where 2 nobel prize winners once lived. Lunch at one of the best known places in Soweto.
- Visit the Cradle of Humankind, one of 8 World Heritage Sites. Here we see the evolution of man. Visit the Rhino and Lion park and use the opportunity to play with lion cubs. Go down the oldest living cave in South Africa, the Wonder caves from where the Italians used to mine limestone.
- Visit Cullinan an Edwardian Village. In this mine the biggest ever diamond was found aroung 1904-5. Leisure around the many interesting curios shops.

WATCHING THE BIRDS AT RIETVLEI NATURE RESERVE
This reserve covers an area of 3800 hectares and supports 1500 to 2000 head of game.
